We are currently acceping donations for our Fall Book Sale.
Bring Donations INSIDE the Library during OPEN HOURS.
All donations must be in clean/dry bags, totes, or boxes.
Our Fall Book Sale is scheduled for September 21-September 26, during Library open Hours.
Donations
Like-new or gently used material that also meets the criteria below may be used for our owning collection (add or replace). Other material that we cannot use will be added to our Book Sale (buyers pay ‘by donation’).
All profit made from Book Sales go directly back to the Library Fund to purchase more materials.
The Library accepts book, audio, and visual material donations for our Book Sales that meet the criteria below:
- Gently Used or Brand New Condition
- No Stains, Grit, or Mold on covers or pages
- Front and Back covers intact
- No Loose or Missing pages
- No Food or water damage on covers or pages
- No animals smells or droppings
- Intact cases
- No discs cracked or other damage to cases or discs
Donations can be dropped off inside the Library Monday-Thursday during Library open hours. Do not put materials intended for donation inside the mailbox or leave outside the Library.
Please put donated materials in a clean bag, box, or tote.
The Library is not a recycling center. Donated items are added to our Book Sales in hpes to raise money to put towards purchasing new materials for Library circulation and for the community to access. Any material that does not meet the above requirements do not benfit the Library.
Items the Library does NOT accept:
- Encyclopedias (individual or sets)
- Britannica book sets, or other similar book sets (individual, partial, or whole sets)
- Dictionaries
- VHS tapes
- Outdated/irrelevent material
- Textbooks
- Cassette Tapes
- Materials deemed ‘dirty’ or ‘wasted’ or ‘damaged’ (see above)
- Bibles and other religion-based text, religious study books and guides, Church hymnals of any types
For items the RBPL does not accept, consider a recycling center, local rummage sales, local churches, or second hand stores.
The Library has limited storage space for donated materials. We begin taking larger donations (20+ books/materials) 1 month prior to the start of the book sales. Any material that is in exceptional condition may be used to replace Library-owned copies for circulation.
The Library staff reserve the right to refuse donations if material does not meet criteria as stated above.
Monetary Donations
As a non-profit organization, the Red Bud Public Library also accepts monetary donations to go towards buying materials for our collection.
We have two forms that we ask donors to fill out:
- Memorial Donation (For a loved one)
- General Donation (support the Library)
Donors are to fill out the appropriate form and send in the form along with their payment to the Library. The Library will designate the donation (however much that it may be) to whatever items or material the donor(s) indicate on the forms (optional, not required).
